Terms of Use

Guitar Tone Gurus (“GTG”, “we”, “us”) is a division of Sonny Bever LLC, a Texas limited liability company. These terms cover your use of guitartonegurus.com, your account, Picks, and the preset packs you get from us. By creating an account or getting a pack, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

Your account

You need an account to get packs. Give us a real name, email address and location (country, state/province/region and city), and keep them up to date.
You must be at least 13 to have an account. If you’re under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms and make any purchase.
One account per person. Keep your password to yourself; you’re responsible for what happens under your login.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, abuse free offers (for example, making several accounts to collect welcome Picks), or try to get around our systems.

Picks

Picks are how you get packs on GTG. Each pack shows its price in Picks.

Buying Picks. Picks come in bundles, some with bonus Picks included. Payment is handled by our reseller, Lemon Squeezy (see Payments below).
Purchased Picks, and the bonus Picks that come with a bundle, expire 5 years after purchase.
Welcome Picks. New accounts may get a one-time welcome bonus (currently 10 Picks). Welcome Picks expire 90 days after they’re given.
Earned Picks. You may be able to earn bonus Picks, for example for a pack review we approve or for inviting a friend who joins and buys Picks. The amounts are shown where you earn them; they can change, and there is a limit on how many you can earn in a month. Earned Picks expire 90 days after they’re given. We may hold back or remove earned Picks where an offer is abused (for example fake accounts or copied reviews), and Picks earned from a friend’s order are removed if that order is refunded.
Reviews. You can review packs that are in your library. Reviews must be your own honest opinion of a pack you’ve used. We check reviews before they appear, may decline or remove any review, and may show approved reviews on the site with your first name and last initial.
When you spend Picks, the ones expiring soonest are used first, and purchased Picks before bonus Picks. We’ll email you before Picks expire (about 30 days and 7 days ahead). Expired Picks can’t be restored.
Picks aren’t money. They have no cash value, can’t be exchanged for cash or credit anywhere else, and can’t be sold or transferred to another account.
We may change pack prices and bundle offers at any time. Changes don’t affect packs you already have.

Payments and refunds

Picks are sold through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as our reseller and merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy takes your payment, charges any sales tax or VAT, and sends your receipt. Its own terms apply to the payment.
All sales are final. We don’t offer refunds on Picks or on packs you’ve got with Picks. Packs are digital and are yours to download as soon as you get them.
If a payment is refunded or charged back (by Lemon Squeezy, your bank or your card company), the Picks from that order that you haven’t spent yet are removed from your account.
If a pack file is broken or isn’t what the pack page describes, email us and we’ll fix it or put things right.
Nothing here takes away rights you have under the consumer law where you live.

Using the packs

When you get a pack, we give you a personal licence to use its presets (and any impulse responses (IRs) that come with it) on your own gear, including in your own recordings, live shows, videos and streams, commercial or not. You don’t need to credit us.

You may not:

share, sell, upload, give away or trade the pack files, or edited versions of them, as presets or IRs;
include them in another preset pack, product or library;
share your account or download links so other people can get packs.

The packs, their descriptions, images and this site are owned by GTG or the people who made them, and are protected by copyright. Your library stays available while your account is open, but please keep your own copies of the files.

Trademarks

Line 6, Helix, HX, POD and Pod Go are trademarks of Yamaha Guitar Group, Inc. Guitar Tone Gurus is not affiliated with or endorsed by Line 6. Amp, cab and pedal names, and the amps and their badges shown in our pack and blog artwork, are used only to identify the gear a preset is based on and to describe the sound it is going for. Those names and logos belong to their owners, who aren’t connected with GTG and don’t endorse it.

Artists

If you make packs for GTG:

Only submit presets and IRs you made yourself or have the right to sell. By submitting, you give GTG the right to sell, describe, image and repackage them on the site for as long as they’re listed.
We review every submission, may ask for changes or turn it down, and set the price (you’re welcome to suggest one).
Artists aren’t named on the public site or in the pack files.
You earn the share set in your artist agreement (70% unless agreed otherwise) of the money behind the purchased Picks spent on your packs. Bonus and welcome Picks, free packs and GTG 1.0 downloads earn nothing. Earnings are paid by PayPal once they reach $50.
The full terms for artists are in the artist agreement in your account (Account → Agreement), which you accept before submitting packs or requesting payouts.

What we don’t promise

Presets sound different on different rigs, guitars and firmware versions, so we can’t promise a pack will sound exactly like a demo on your setup. The site and packs are provided “as is”. We work to keep the site running and your library available, but we can’t promise it will never be down or error-free.

As far as the law allows, GTG and Sonny Bever LLC aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

GTG 1.0 accounts

If you had an account on the old Guitar Tone Gurus site, we moved it here with the same email address and password. Free packs you got there are in your library. By signing in, you agree to these terms for your use of the new site.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we’ll put a notice on the site or email you. Using the site after the update means you accept it.
